I am so pleased to be at Kingsway Christian School!
My goals for you children include giving them excellent, consistent instruction so that they can use their voices/music skills to the fullest to Glorify God. My hope is for them to grow in self-esteem and confidence to lead others in worship through music. I take great joy in watching them mature in their abilities throughout the year and I hope you see growth as well!
I received my Bachelor's in Music Education from Indiana University in 1986. My concentration was in voice, but I also have very strong piano skills. Initially, I taught K-12 in Middletown, Ohio. I then taught at Plainfield Community Middle School for eight and a half years before staying home full time with our daughters and moving to St. Louis. It was there I began teaching private voice and piano lessons. Our return to Indianapolis in 2000 brought our third child, a son, and a position at Chapel Rock Christian Church. I have continued with a private studio to the present and am completely enjoying the classroom environment again!
My husband and I have three children; Julia (15), Kathryn (10), and Cameron (7). We also have two Basset Hounds named Nocoma and Ricochet, and we long for a little spot in the country where both the kids and the dogs can run, play, and raise chickens! (I am a city girl, but my husband is from the country!)
Something we love to share as a family, and will share with your children, is caterpillars! We have Black Swallowtail Butterflies that grow in the host plants behind our home. Every fall we harvest the caterpillars and watch them grow and form their chrysalis's. What a joy it is to see transformation right in front of our very eyes! It never ceases to amaze us.
In the same way, I never cease to be amazed at the transformations that take place in people's lives as they allow God into yet another corner of their hearts.
Your children are a blessing and we are all in process.
