I am very excited to begin my first year at Kingsway Christian School. I am a long time member of Kingsway and have considered this position for several years. Since I recently retired from public schools, the opening here came at an opportune time.
Some of you know my husband, Ed, as he frequently drives a bus for Kingsway school. He is also excited about this job change, as I now work much closer to home. I have 2 children and 3 step-children. Both of my children grew up in Kingsway and my son attended Jr. High here. He is now in the Army, stationed in Oklahoma. My daughter and grandbabies live in Plainfield and also attend KCC. One of my stepchildren lives in Decatur Twp, and the others are in Texas.
I am a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and received a Masters Degree from IU. I enjoy teaching math, and as often as possible, I like to use discovery techniques. It is so rewarding to hear the "ah-hah" from students when something confusing starts to make sense.
A favorite scripture is Psalm 100:1-3 "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God. It is He who created us and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of HIs Pasture." Sometimes I have to sit back and remind myself who is really in charge....
